TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have had a fly rod in my hand since the age of nine. Unfortunately for many decades I only managed to build poor muscle memory and bad casting habits. Some twenty years ago I was fortunate to wander upon the grounds of the most well known and prestigious angling and casting club in the world, the Golden Gate Angling and casting Club {ggacc.org}. Located in Golden Gate park this club is responsible for producing the finest casters and fishermen in the world.
Under the tutelage of the likes of Steve Rajeff {he has won the annual American Casting Association championship 35 consecutive times, and the bi-annual World Casting Championship 13 times}, Tim Rajeff, a national casting champion, and Mel Krieger I was able to correct my casting stroke and pass on the long legacy of teaching casting and fishing to the membership.
I was president of the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club for four years and on the board of directors for ten. Currently I am an adviser to the board and continue to share my knowledge with the current group of potential casting instructors. I have literally taught over a thousand students, and have been lucky enough to spend and extensive amount of time teaching along side Mel Krieger, the most recognized casting instructor in the world today.
I am a member of the Fishing Hall of Fame as well as a IGFA {International Game Fish Association.} world record holder.I am affiliated with and certified as a casting instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers.Additionally I am on the Pro-Staff for G-Loomis rod company, Echo rod company, Airflo fly lines, Patagonia, and Abel fly reels. I teach both traditional single hand fly casting and Two-handed or Spey casting.
